High-Precision Stamping: Achieving Excellence in Component Manufacturing

HONGMING SHENG / OEM COMPONENT MANUFACTURING

High-Precision Metal Stamping, Defined by Your Drawing

A precision stamped part needs more than an accurate overall size. Hole positions, formed angles, edge condition and mating features must work together in the finished assembly.

Hongming Sheng manufactures custom precision stamping parts for automotive, electronics and industrial equipment projects. We review your drawings, material and production quantity to develop a suitable tooling and manufacturing route.

01 / Specify Precision at the Feature Level

Identify the dimensions that control fit and function. This helps focus tooling development and inspection on the features that matter to your assembly.

Feature Drawing Requirement
Hole Locations Hole size, pitch, datum references and positional requirements.
Formed Geometry Bend angles, flange heights, flatness and mating-face alignment.
Edges and Surfaces Burr limits, edge condition, visible surfaces and finishing criteria.
Inspection Critical characteristics, measurement references and required reports.

Tolerance review: Requirements such as ±0.01 mm on selected features need engineering confirmation based on material, thickness, geometry, tooling and measurement method.

02 / Control the Route from Tooling to Production

Drawing Review

Review forming access, material specification, critical dimensions and production quantity. Agree any proposed design changes before tooling work.

Tooling and Trial Parts

Select the die arrangement for the part and order volume. Trial parts allow the forming result and critical features to be checked before production approval.

Batch Production

Monitor the agreed characteristics during production, including dimensional changes, burr condition and tool wear that could affect repeatability.

Finishing and Final Checks

Include deburring, surface treatment or assembly where specified. Review finished-part dimensions and appearance against the agreed acceptance requirements.

03 / Materials and Manufacturing Scope

Material options: Stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, copper and brass, with grade, temper and thickness specified for each project.

Process selection: Blanking, piercing, bending, forming or progressive stamping can be reviewed according to geometry and expected production volume.

Secondary operations: Deburring, tapping, plating, powder coating and mechanical assembly can be included where suitable for the material and drawing requirements.

04 / Components for OEM Assemblies

Automotive: Mounting brackets, retainers and support components manufactured to customer drawings.

Electronics: Contact parts, shielding components, enclosure features and small mounting pieces.

Industrial equipment: Mounting plates, formed supports and functional components for machines and equipment assemblies.

05 / Information for a Useful Quotation

Files: 2D drawing, 3D model where available, part number and revision.
Material: Grade, temper, thickness and any required material documentation.
Critical features: Tolerances, datum references, burr limits and inspection requirements.
Order scope: Sample quantity, production quantity or forecast, finish and secondary operations.
Delivery: Target date, destination and packaging requirements.
