Before selecting a prototype or tooling route, the part should be reviewed for material, thickness, bends, holes, forming depth, tolerances, finish, and expected quantity.

For early-stage projects, parts may be produced using fabrication, laser cutting, CNC bending, machining, or simplified tooling depending on geometry and quantity.

Once the design is more stable, dedicated stamping tooling can be reviewed according to the part geometry and expected repeat production volume.
