Our ServiceFor CNC manufacturing, a shaft drawing needs more than overall diameter and length. Bearing journals, shoulders, threads, grooves, key features, surface finish, runout, and reference datums may all affect how the part is turned, ground, and inspected.
The customer defines the functional requirements; the manufacturing review focuses on how those requirements can be produced and verified.

Send Shaft Drawing| Feature | Why It Matters in Manufacturing |
|---|---|
| Bearing Journal | Diameter, fit, surface finish, and relationship to adjacent features may be important for bearing installation and rotation. |
| Shoulder | Shoulder position and face condition can control axial location of bearings, spacers, gears, or other components. |
| Threads | Thread type, pitch, length, relief, and start position should be specified where functional. |
| Grooves | Retaining-ring, seal, relief, or other grooves need clear width, depth, and location. |
| Keyway / Flat | Torque-transfer or locating features may require secondary milling after turning. |
| Center Holes | Center features may be required when the shaft needs later grinding or machining between centers. |
A shaft may contain several journals and shoulders that need to rotate relative to the same axis. In these cases, the relationship between features can matter more than the tolerance of one isolated diameter.
| CNC Turning | Used for main diameters, shoulders, grooves, faces, and many threaded features. |
| CNC Milling | May be added for keyways, flats, cross holes, slots, or other non-rotational features. |
| Grinding | Can be considered where the drawing requires specific journal accuracy or surface condition. |
| Heat Treatment | If specified, machining sequence and possible post-treatment finishing should be considered. |
| Surface Treatment | Plating, black oxide, passivation, or other finishes should be defined where required. |
